St Mary’s Church, Billingshurst

Today sees the official start of our fundraising campaign to transform the church. It is an exciting journey that may be tough at times but I hope you are ready to travel it! Click here to read about the project.

It was announced in November that the Chichester Diocesan ‘YES’ Youth Team (“You, Equipped to Serve”) was, effectively, being shut down. A period of consultation was to follow, until 9 January. The PCC of this church was – unanimously – aghast, and its concern has been conveyed to Bishops etc. It has now been announced that the YES Team will continue in post until the end of July 2014 so that they can deliver their existing commitments. This is a partial victory, and there is an online petition to The Bishop of Chichester campaigning to keep the YES Team.
